2011 AWARD RECIPIENTS
LUCKE AWARD
Kathryn Siebert, Our House of Portland
Kathryn fell into volunteer management 20 years ago when, as a new stay-at-home mom, she became a weekly volunteer at Our House. Serving those affected by HIV/AIDS, this extraordinary organization has evolved significantly over the last two decades. Kathryn has been fortunate enough to have evolved along with it, hired part-time in 1992 and ultimately taking over the volunteer program 14 years ago. Her previous management experience in both corporate and nonprofit environments provided helpful background, but the people captivated her. Hundreds of dedicated volunteers, amazing staff and clients continue to make this the perfect career choice for her. The sense of community connection through service brings true reward, and that is a gift that in her position she is able to share with the world.
