Two NOVAA members chosen to serve on AL!VE national board of directors

A national organization that has formed from the result of COVAA (Congress of Volunteer Administrators) in December 2006. AL!VE (Association of Leaders in Volunteer Engagement) serves to enhance and sustain the spirit of volunteerism in America by fostering collaboration and networking, promoting professional development, and providing advocacy for leaders in community engagement.
Gretchen Jordan, NOVAA Past President and the 2008 recipient of NOVAA’s Leadership award and Erin Barnhart, NOVAA member and 2008 recipient of NOVAA’s Lucke award, are proud and excited to be a part of the founding board. ‘The creation of AL!VE has been a thoughtful, deliberate process, and will be an important part of helping leaders of volunteers as a call to service for all has increased’, states Jordan.
The new AL!VE Founding Board will meet in February for a transition retreat in Denver, CO , where this association began to form over two years ago. At this meeting the new board will also elect the first officers for the association.

In the very near future the AL!VE Founding Board will be offering membership opportunities and inviting participation on a number of committees. We strongly encourage all leaders of volunteers to get involved, stay involved, and tune in to the exciting developments ahead as AL!VE moves into its next stage of growth and development.
