NOVAA Membership Monthly Meeting -  March 19th

Crafting your career in Volunteer Management

Volunteer Managers utilize a diverse set of skills in their work, including development, public relations, human resources, program design, and event planning. This workshop will help you define your current duties, develop them into skill sets, and show you how to use your varied skill-set to create or re-vamp your current resume.

Gretchen Jordan, CVA, is the Program and Volunteer Resources Manager for AARP Oregon. She is the past president of NOVAA, a member of the Oregon Commission for Voluntary Action and Service, and National Board Member of AL!VE (Association of Leaders in Volunteer Engagement)

Volunteer Management 201 Workshop


In Cooperation with NOVAA and TACS, the four outstanding presenters, (Autumn Ray, Nancy Gaston, June Bass, and Jim Laden,) from February’s Volunteer Management workshop will be teaching the Volunteer Management 201 Workshop, to be held on May 1st, 2009. The workshop is an in-depth exploration of strategies essential for successful volunteer leadership. This advanced training is designed for staff members who have primary responsibility for leading volunteer programs and can draw upon substantial experience in this profession. Participants will build upon their understanding of volunteer program leadership and master new tools and techniques to increase program effectiveness.
Expert trainers from NOVAA will explore:
• Key leadership skills for volunteer managers
• Risk Management
• Volunteer program evaluation strategies
Attendance at a previous Volunteer Management 101 workshop is not required.
