2009 NOVAA ANNUAL CONFERENCE

IT’S HAPPENING AT THE OREGON ZOO! OH MY!

You can get there by a bike; you can get there with a hike, even faster take the train, probably not an air-o-plane.

NOVAA's conference is coming soon it will be here in four full moons.

The focus is local and, by the way, based on the comments from your survey.

It's not July, October or June. It’s November 4th and coming soon.
Put it in your PDA, your calendar or day-by-day.

Do not fret, the cost is low ($85 member/$125 non-member), just ask your boss if you can go.
They cannot refuse to send you there for this is important so you don't despair.
Managing volunteers is fun, but your learning is not all done.

It's "In Our Own Back Yard" so there aren't any excuses, come meet new people and maybe mongooses

To the NOVAA e-newsletter stay tuned, as workshop information will be available soon!

A message from Gretchen Jordan, Board President of AL!VE

Colleagues and Friends,

Re: New National Organization, AL!VE, Launched for Volunteer Resource Managers

AL!VE, Association of Leaders In Volunteer Engagement, launched at the National Conference on Volunteering and Service in San Francisco, June 22 -24. Our membership already represents over 200 volunteer management professionals – and thank you to those who have already become AL!VE members.

So much has been accomplished since December of 2006 when a group of dedicated individuals came together in Denver, Colorado and developed the initial concept for a professional organization. Many of you were there when we started as COVAA and others have heard of our hard work and have been watching and waiting for this moment.

We are now a fully incorporated membership organization ready to become the essential professional resource and advocate for those who engage, motivate, and celebrate volunteers and their vital contributions to our society.
