Officially approved opportunities include registration for the CVA certification process, NOVAA's Volunteer Management 101 and 201 workshops, and the fall NOVAA conference each year. Other events and opportunities are subject to review and approval by the Board. If you would like to apply for a scholarship for another professional development opportunity in our local area, please apply and the Board will consider it.

The Founding Board of AL!VE (Associaton of Leaders in Volunteer Engagement)met in February.  Members of this board include Gretchen Jordan and Erin Barnhart, NOVAA members.  The group reviewed the benchmarks for the $100,000 grant from the Volunteer Impact Fund and set plans for 2009 and is beginning to craft a strategic plan as well as committee work.

AL!VE will have a presence at the Points Of Light Conference in San Francisco in June of 2009 and plans to accept memberships into the organization around the same time.  For more information, visit their website at www.volunteeralive.org
