Volunteer Management 101 and 201were a Success

Participants gave high ratings to the volunteer management courses co-sponsored by NOVAA and TACS (Technical Assistance for Community Services). Attendees described the training as “practical and applicable,” and indicated it would change the way they work as volunteer resources managers.

Volunteer Management 101 is a two-day course covering the classic cycle of volunteer resources management—program planning, job design, recruiting, interviewing, placing, supervising, recognizing and evaluating. The one-day 201 course goes beyond the basics to include such things as communicating the impact of your volunteer program, managing risk and preparing employees to supervise volunteers.

Trainers are selected by NOVAA through an application and interview process. Current team members are June Bass, Nancy Gaston, Jim Laden and Autumn Ray.
